For the purists, there’s nothing quite like camping under the alpine sky. There’s a Cradle Mountain camping site located at Discovery Parks Cradle Mountain, near the park entrance. You’ll find powered and unpowered sites for tents and vans amongst the trees.
Facilities are well maintained, and there’s easy access to walking tracks, the shuttle bus, and even the odd curious wombat. Just pack for all four seasons — even in summer.
30 minutes north of Cradle Mountain you’ll find Cradle Mountain Camping and Fishing. A privately run camp ground set around a lake full of fish, this is a fun spot to camp for Cradle Mt and try fish feeding and platypus spotting on the side. Mostly unpowered sites. Great for kids!
