Cradle Mountain Accommodation Options for Every Traveller
While Cradle Mountain accommodation is often described as being ‘at’ the mountain, most of it is technically outside the boundaries of the national park — but still just minutes away from the entrance. Accommodation close to the visitor centre is incredibly convenient, with Cradle Mountain Road offering a string of high-quality cabins, lodges, and retreats nestled into the surrounding alpine forest.
If you’re after the once-in-a-lifetime experience of staying within the boundaries of the national park itself, there’s really only one option – Waldheim Cabins.
If you’re open to staying a little further out, there are also excellent options in nearby towns and countryside settings such as Moina, Wilmot, Erriba, and Sheffield. These are ideal if you’re road tripping or looking for more space, a rural atmosphere, or a base that’s a little easier on the budget while still keeping you close to the action.
From high-end havens to no-fuss hideouts, the Cradle Mountain accommodation options are as varied as the landscape.
Cabins, cottages, lodges, and camping — every style gets you front-row access to Tasmania’s most dramatic wilderness. The only question is: do you want underfloor heating, or a campfire?
