There are two rooms types – we suggest booking the Explorer Rooms which have their own ensuite. The Pioneer Rooms involve using bathrooms down stairs.
The food
Dining is available in house and by all accounts it’s great. This is really important because there are limited eat out options on the Central Highlands.
Breakfast is included in your stay, lunches are available (but not on the day of check in) and there’s a choice of 2 or 3 course meals for dinner.
There’s also an in-house bar for alcoholic beverages and snacks – all following an honesty system and not overly expensive.
The adventures
This wilderness lodge Tasmania style is all about embracing the great outdoors. There’s walking, hiking, trout fishing in the nearby lakes, and wildlife spotting in and around the property.

Rustic comfort food is the style provided at Truffle Lodge. Breakfast and dinners are offered by the owners but lunches are not. As this is a boutique lodge, the food is all set meals and there is no restaurant on site. The Lodge is licensed and so doesn’t allow BYO.

There are two restaurants and a bar onsite – food and wine really is a giant part of this lodge experience.
